hi. i’m lydia.

Being a person of ideas, writing has forever been a part of my life. Now a published author with experience in writing for websites, magazines and social media, I have been able to combine my penchant for words with an understanding that producing quality content is about much more than being able to write well.

Not only do I know how to capture a narrative and tell a compelling story, but I also know how to vary my writing to suit different audiences and platforms.

Hire me for your blog writing, copywriting or proofreading needs.

Who am I?

A freelance writer since 2019 I have been published in SurfGirl magazine, SWIM Magazine, British Travel Journal and Oceanographic. I’ve also worked with well-known brands including Surfdome, Northcore and Robie. Much of my writing is inspired by the ocean and spending time outdoors. When I’m not working you’ll usually find me swimming, learning to sail or spending time in, on or under the sea.

How can I help?

Blogs - bespoke written content for your blog to keep your audience engaged. This includes fully researched content with SEO in mind.

Copywriting - website copy that is structured for online consumption, with readability and search rankings in mind.

Ghostwriting - I can create words in your tone of voice, so you can focus on other aspects of your business.

Newslettersongoing content or a welcome series for new subscribers, so you can connect with your audience on a deeper level.

Proofreading - relax in the know that your finished project contains both continuity and correctness.

Published author

In 2020 I co-founded Wild Swimming Cornwall to promote the mental and physical health benefits of cold water swimming. In 2021, I co-authored a book A Guide to Wild Swimming in Cornwall.

The project centres around the aim of making cold water swimming and its many benefits accessible to as many people as possible. Our goal is to encourage wellness, a sense of community and an affinity with the natural world through cold water immersion.
